A collaboration with the Faculty of Education, University of Cambridge.
The Britten–Pears Foundation are working in collaboration with the University of Cambridge on an exciting new composing initiative. Britten's own ideals and practice as a composer can be examined and interpreted as a pedagogic approach. Working with teachers across the primary and secondary sectors we hope to stimulate debate about the teaching of composition in schools and to construct a model that helps teachers to place composing at the centre of a high-quality musical education.
We promote the music of Benjamin Britten and his work with singer Peter Pears, and are based at the home they shared. The Red House in Aldeburgh.
