We welcome visits and enquiries from researchers, performers and students.
The Library and Archive collections originate from material assembled by Benjamin Britten and Peter Pears. Britten’s music manuscripts are at the core of the archive but the collections also comprise annotated libretto drafts, books and printed music, photographs, correspondence, concert programmes, press cuttings, set and costume designs. We hold the papers for the English Opera Group and English Music Theatre as well as a wealth of material relating to the history of the Aldeburgh Festival of Music and the Arts.
For more information on our holdings, please explore our collections pages, search our catalogues and feel free to get in touch.
