The English Opera Group and English Music Theatre Company collection comprises papers of the board of directors, annual general and committee meetings, including minutes, reports and correspondence. There are financial papers, including accounts and budgets, and papers relating to artists and personnel who worked with the group. There are extensive correspondence files relating to matters such as the planning and organisation of productions, tours, seasons and repertoire. Production materials are comprehensive for many of the operas staged. These files cover many aspects of the opera’s production, and include technical papers, such as electrics, sound and lighting plots, stage plans, and set and costume designs. There are production and vocal scores annotated and used by members of the group. Some of the scores are pre-publication dyelines produced for the works' premieres – these include works by Britten as well as those works commissioned from other composers. There are photographs of most of the productions staged by the group, and the vast number of performances, in the UK and abroad, are well documented in the form of programmes and press reviews.
