Volunteering opportunities at The Red House
BPF is lucky to have a committed team of volunteers who help our staff with a range of activities, including:
- leading guided tours of The Red House;
- filming, recording and transcribing oral history interviews with people who were part of the story of Britten and Pears;
- scanning and other collections-based tasks in the archive.
As we prepare to expand our activities and transform our site ahead of Britten's centenary, we hope to increase both the number of volunteers and the range of their involvement. Although we will be closed to the public during this time - and therefore not offering guided tours from September 2011 to June 2013 - there is still plenty to do. We plan to involve our volunteers in planning and creating our new visitor offer, and to use the time to develop a range of training opportunities.
Over the coming months we will be announcing a number of volunteering initiatives and actively recruiting new volunteers. In the meantime, if you are interested in finding out more, please contact our volunteer co-ordinator, Julia Mael, at firstname.lastname@example.org
