Description	:	Britten inscribed a copy of this studio photograph to his first piano teacher, who taught him from the age of eight: ‘To Miss Ethel / Everlastingly gratefully / Benjamin Britten’. The composer attended her pre-prep school before he entered South Lodge (now Old Buckenham Hall) and then Gresham’s, Holt.
