Grant first met Britten and Pears in 1967. They encouraged him in his work and over the years collected eleven of his paintings, several of Norwegian landscapes where Grant now lives and where his imagination has been particularly stimulated. Like Sidney Nolan he has also created a number of visual tributes to Britten, one of which was exhibited at The Britten–Pears Library in 2003. Oil on canvas: 110 x 180 cm. Framed: 120 x 190 cm.
